WRAP Audit & Compliance

WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production) is a certification program that ensures ethical and responsible manufacturing in the supply chain.

What is WRAP?

WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production) is a globally recognized independent certification program that helps ensure ethical and responsible manufacturing for sewn products, apparel and footwear. It's an independent, non-profit organization that promotes ethical, humane, and lawful conditions and practices in all manufacturing facilities.

What is a WRAP audit?

A WRAP audit is a comprehensive assessment of a factory's compliance with WRAP's 12 principles, which include issues such as labor practices, environmental impact, and legal compliance. The audit evaluates all aspects of the factory's operations, from worker health and safety to environmental conditions, and assesses whether the factory is in compliance with WRAP's standards.

The 12 principles of WRAP include:

  1. Compliance with Laws and Workplace Regulations
  2. Prohibition of Forced Labor
  3. Prohibition of Child Labor
  4. Prohibition of Harassment or Abuse
  5. Compensation and Benefits
  6. Hours of Work
  7. Prohibition of Discrimination
  8. Health and Safety
  9. Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining
  10. Environment
  11. Customs Compliance
  12. Security

What are the benefits of a WRAP certification?

A WRAP certification provides several benefits for both manufacturers and buyers in the apparel, footwear, and sewn goods industries.

For manufacturers, WRAP certification can help improve working conditions, reduce risks, and boost employee morale. For buyers, a WRAP certification provides assurance that the products they are purchasing were produced in a socially responsible and ethical manner. It also helps reduce supply chain risks and enhances brand reputation by demonstrating a commitment to responsible sourcing.

In addition to its comprehensive assessment of ethical and responsible manufacturing, WRAP also includes the requirements of a C-TPAT security audit. This allows manufacturers who obtain a WRAP certification to sell to brands and retailers in the US without needing to undergo an additional audit.
